Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Autumn Term at Ducklings. We hope you have had an enjoyable summer holiday. We are looking forward to this busy term and  are hoping to give the children a happy, exciting and fulfilled time while they are at Ducklings. We are also excited to be welcoming some new children to the setting; Bruce, Harry, Annabelle and Ted.

As from this term, Miss Julia is going to be handing over the Management/Ownership of Ducklings Montessori Nursery to Miss Marie and Miss Nicola who have been acting as Deputy Managers for many years. They are both very professional and hard-working and they make a dedicated team. Miss Julia set up the Nursery in 2002 and she now feels it is time for her to take on a new role as Advisor and Administer of the Setting and she will be helping to hand over the responsibility of the daily management and ownership to Miss Marie and Miss Nicola over the coming months. We would also like to congratulate Miss Sarah on recently achieving her NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare, and she will now be acting as Deputy Manager. Miss Becky and Miss Liz, who is also a qualified Montessori Teacher, are also both hugely valued members of the team.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that every child will need a NAMED change of clothes, suitable outdoor wear and a pair of wellies and a water bottle. The weekly menus, Ideas for Topics and the Key Worker List will all be displayed in the foyer. Should you have any queries at any time please do not hesitate to talk to us.

Thank you for all your support.

Kind Regards,

All the staff at Ducklings

June 2016

Dear Parents
We hope you have had a good half term break and we are looking forward to a busy time ahead.

We are planning an outing to Thrift Farm on Thursday 23rd June. The farm opens at 9.30 am and we will aim to stay until 1.00 pm. Please do join us if you would like to help and all children will need to be provided with a packed lunch. The attached consent form needs to be completed and returned to us as soon as possible. You are welcome to join us even if your child does not normally come in on a Thursday but you will need to independently pay the entrance fee and you will need to stay with your child during the outing.
We will also be holding our usual Sport’s Day and Teddy Bears’ Picnic on the last day of term, Thursday 14th July at 11.00 am. A list of food to bring in will be put up in the foyer nearer to the end of time.
Finally, we would like to remind you that your child needs to be provided with a water bottle, spare clothes, sun hat and helmet for their bike or scooter and all items need to be NAMED.
We would like to thank you for all your continuing support at Ducklings.

Best wishes

April 2016

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to all after the Spring break. We would also like to welcome Bruce, who will be starting with us this term, and also Miss Liz, who is another Montessori teacher to join our team of hardworking and committed staff. We are planning to undertake the Parent Consultations in the next few weeks and the appointment times are going to be handed out this week.

As we approach the summer months, we hope for some pleasant weather so that the children can make the most of the outdoors. As the hot weather approaches, please do not forget to put sun cream on your child before they come to Nursery, and they will also need to bring a sun hat. We would also like to remind you that the children will need to have their own bag/rucksack with a change of clothing.

Lisa Jeffries will be visiting Ducklings on Monday 25th April, Tuesday 26th April and Wednesday 4th May in order to take some photographs of the children. She will be taking group and individual portraits; so please feel free to bring siblings along to the photo shoot!

We will not be able to use the hall on Thursday 5th May as it will be used as a Polling Station for the Local Elections. Therefore, we are planning to go on an outing to P K Kids Zone in Buckingham that day, as well as on Thursday 23rd June for the EU Referendum. We will also plan to visit Thrift Farm.  We will be handing out consent forms soon so please fill these in if you would like your child to go on these outings.

We hope to have a Teddy Bears’ picnic and Sports Day on the last day of term, Thursday 14th July, which will take place in the park, weather permitting.

We also need to announce that we will be increasing our fees from September 2016 to an hourly rate to £6.00 due to rising costs brought about by the National Living Wage and Pension Enrolment. This will not affect the three and four year’s olds who will continue to receive their Funding Entitlement of 15 hours free per week.

Thank you for your continuing support.

Best wishes

Julia Jack and all the staff
