We have been exploring science, other cultures, special people and lots more in the first half of the Spring Term. Australia and China and the Chinese New Year We had fun looking at Aboriginal art, making boomerangs, making sandcastles, looking at the animals and birds that live in Australia and making big spiders!! For Chinese New Year we made lanterns, fans, dragons, had a go at writing Chinese numbers, looked at photographs of life in China and made colourful firework pictures.

We've taken advantage of the better weather and had some great fun and educational times outdoors. We're really looking forward to Spring now.

We undertook lots of different experiments such as mixing oil and coloured water together, making a powder into a liquid, mixing paint together to make different colours, making bubbles, sieving flour and rice, lots of ICT, making pulleys and experimenting with magnets.

We enjoyed looking at where we live, making different types of houses, maps and also looking at how people build their homes in other countries, for example, igloos and mud huts. We also looked at where animals and birds live.
